The Ministry of Buddashasana and Cultural Affairs states a special survey will be carried out on the historical sites in the Northern and Eastern provinces.
Secretary to the ministry MKB Harischandra said that based on the instructions of the Minister of Buddashasana and Cultural Affairs, they would conduct a joint survey with the Department of Archaeology.
The location, history and the present state of all temples in the Northern and Eastern provinces will be researched through this survey.
The Ministry of Buddhashasana, Cultural and Religious Affairs stated, if there is any unauthorized settlement in the premises, steps will be taken to remove and relocate them as well.
