Former President Maithripala Sirisena said people were living happily during his tenure and there were no issues at that time.
“We know that you have so many issues today. People in all parts of the country are facing these issues. The country is facing a huge economic crisis. The Agricultural sector is in crisis. Farmers have no fertilizer for farming.We regret this situation,” he said.
Adressing the SLFP Jaffna District convention, the former President said he had developed close international relations with world leaders as they supported him.
“During my time world leaders all supported me. The people did not have any issues they are facing today. Prices of goods were down. I had created close contacts with world leaders.They all supprted me to govern the country,” he said.
He said the SLFP as a party which did not consist of any corrupt politicians would march foward as a people-friendly party.
