The current Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Sri Lanka, Maxwell de Silva, has been summoned today (24th) 9.00 am at the Colombo Fraud Investigation Unit (CFIB to make a statement regarding a alleged financial irregularity in 2016.
According to a complaint lodged by MH Yusuf, a resident of Dehiowita, Magammana, on 02.12.2021 with the Financial Crimes Investigation Unit of the CID. The secretary was summoned this morning and the complaint states that the financial irregularity was related to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
On today Maxwell De Silva has been summoned to CFIB to record his statement and they will report facts to the courts thereafter. They will record the Auditor General statement after getting statement from Maxwell, reliable sources said.
